A simplified version of the classic Reform Torta, using a pre-made sponge cake or a quicker cake recipe and a simpler chocolate ganache for the frosting, making it more accessible for a weeknight treat.

Sastojci
- pre-made chocolate sponge cake or quick chocolate cake mix1 (9-inch)
- heavy cream200ml
- dark chocolate (60% cocoa), chopped200g
- butter, softened50g
- powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)2 tbsp
- saltpinch
- water1 tbsp

If using a cake mix, prepare and bake according to package directions. Let cool completely.

Slice the cooled cake horizontally into two layers.

For the ganache: Heat heavy cream in a saucepan until simmering. Pour over chopped dark chocolate in a bowl. Let sit for 5 minutes, then whisk until smooth.

Stir in the softened butter until melted and incorporated. Let the ganache cool and thicken slightly.

Place the bottom cake layer on a serving plate. Spread half of the ganache over it.

Top with the second cake layer. Pour the remaining ganache over the top, letting it drip down the sides. Smooth with a spatula.

Garnish with chocolate shavings or a dusting of powdered sugar, if desired.

Chill for at least 30 minutes to allow the ganache to set.
