Pat the calamari rings and tentacles dry with paper towels. This is crucial for a crispy coating.

In a shallow dish, combine flour, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Dredge the calamari pieces in the seasoned flour, ensuring each piece is evenly coated. Shake off any excess flour.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 180°C (350°F).

Fry the calamari in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pot. Fry for 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Remove the fried calamari with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
