- Onions2 medium
- Smoked sweet paprika2 tbsp
- Hot paprika1 tsp
- Red chili flakes1/2 tsp
- Tomatoes1 large
- Garlic2 cloves
- Bacon fat or vegetable oil2 tbsp
- Water150ml
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Chili oilfor garnish
- Fresh dillfor garnish

Dice the onions and mince the garlic.

Cut the catfish fillets into bite-sized pieces.

Dice the tomato.

In a pot, heat the bacon fat or oil over medium heat. Add the diced onions and sauté until golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.

Stir in the smoked sweet paprika, hot paprika, and chili flakes. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Add the minced garlic and diced tomato. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the tomato softens.

Add the catfish pieces, water, salt, and pepper. Stir gently.

Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat, cover, and cook for 25-30 minutes, until the fish is tender. Stir occasionally.
