- Fish fillets (e.g., tilapia, cod)500g
- Fermented soybean paste (taucu)3 tbsp
- Minced garlic1 tbsp
- Minced ginger1 tsp
- Red chili1, sliced
- Soy sauce1 tbsp
- Sugar1/2 tsp
- Water1/4 cup
- Cooking oil1 tbsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Spring onionsfor garnish

Cut fish into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the fish pieces until lightly browned. Remove and set aside.

Stir in the taucu, soy sauce, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer.
