In a pot, heat beef broth with lemongrass, ginger, and bay leaf. Bring to a simmer.

In a small pan, heat oil and sauté sliced shallots and minced garlic until fragrant. Add turmeric powder and cook for 30 seconds.

Add the sautéed aromatics to the simmering broth. Season with salt and black pepper. Let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.

Remove lemongrass, ginger, and bay leaf from the broth.
