- Cassava (tapioca root)1 kg
- Banana leaves4 large
- Grated fresh coconut100g
- Palm sugar (Gula Melaka)150g
- Water100ml
- Salt1 tsp

Prepare and boil the cassava as in the traditional recipe until very tender. Drain well.

Mash the hot cassava until smooth. Mix in the grated coconut and salt.

Prepare banana leaves and shape the mixture into parcels as per the traditional recipe.

Steam the linopot parcels for 15-20 minutes.

While the linopot is steaming, prepare the palm sugar syrup. Dissolve the palm sugar in 100ml of water over low heat until syrupy. Strain if necessary.

Serve the steamed linopot warm, unwrapped, and generously drizzled with the palm sugar syrup.
