  • Sambal belacan (store-bought)2-3 tbsp
  • Shallots2, thinly sliced
  • Garlic2 cloves, minced
  • Protein (e.g., small shrimp or diced chicken)1/2 cup
  • Mixed fresh herbs (e.g., cilantro, mint, spring onion greens)1/2 cup, chopped
  • Vegetable oil2 tbsp
  • Saltto taste
  • Black pepperto taste
