- Sago flour150g
- Water750ml
- Salt1/2 tsp
- Cooked shrimp, chopped200g
- Red onion, finely chopped1/4 cup
- Bird's eye chilies, minced1-2
- Lime juice1.5 tbsp
- Fish sauce1 tsp
- Mint leaves, chopped2 tbsp
- Black pepperto taste

In a saucepan, whisk together sago flour and 750ml of water until smooth. Add salt.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens into a smooth, sticky porridge. This should take about 5-7 minutes.

While the ambuyat cooks, prepare the cacah udang. In a bowl, combine chopped cooked shrimp, red onion, minced chilies, lime juice, fish sauce, chopped mint leaves, and black pepper. Mix well.

Serve the ambuyat hot in a bowl, with the cacah udang on the side.
