- Glutinous rice2 cups
- Roasted peanuts1/2 cup
- WaterAs needed
- Salt1/2 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil2 tablespoons
- Shallots, thinly sliced1 cup
- Cooking oil, for frying1/2 cup

Rinse the glutinous rice and soak in water for at least 4 hours or overnight. Drain well.

Steam the rice for 20-25 minutes until tender. While steaming, prepare the fried shallots: heat cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add sliced shallots and fry until golden brown and crispy. Remove shallots with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Reserve the shallot-infused oil.

In a bowl, combine the cooked sticky rice with the roasted peanuts, salt, and 1 tablespoon of the reserved shallot oil. Mix gently.

Steam the mixture again for 10-15 minutes.
