Kẹo Hồ Lô Trái Cây (Traditional Fruit Candies)

Món truyền thống · Vietnamese

A classic Vietnamese candied fruit treat, featuring fresh fruits coated in a glossy, hard sugar shell. Traditionally made with hawthorn berries, but other fruits can be used. The sugar coating is brittle and sweet, providing a delightful contrast to the fruit's natural flavor.

Nguyên liệu

  • Hawthorn berries200g
  • Strawberries100g
  • Grapes100g
  • Granulated sugar200g
  • Water100ml
  • Bamboo skewers10

Các bước

  1. 1

Wash and prepare the fruits. Remove stems from hawthorn berries and strawberries. If using large grapes, halve them. Pat all fruits dry.

  2. 2

Thread fruits onto bamboo skewers, about 3-4 pieces per skewer. Ensure fruits are packed relatively close together.

  3. 3

In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar and water. Stir gently until sugar dissolves.

  4. 4

Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Cook without stirring until the syrup reaches the hard crack stage (around 150-155°C or 300-310°F). The syrup should turn a light amber color.

  5. 5

Quickly dip each fruit skewer into the hot sugar syrup, ensuring it's fully coated. Rotate to create an even layer.

  6. 6

Immediately place the coated skewers on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool and harden.

  7. 7

Allow the candies to cool completely until the sugar shell is hard and brittle.
