- Baking soda1/2 tsp
- Vegetable oil for frying1 liter
- Powdered sugar for dustingto taste

In a large bowl, whisk together the yogurt, eggs, sugar, and salt.

Dissolve the baking soda in a tablespoon of warm water and add it to the yogurt mixture.

Gradually add the flour, mixing until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms. Knead for a few minutes until smooth.

Cover the dough and let it rest for about 20-30 minutes.

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer over medium-high heat.

Wet your hands with water, take small portions of dough, and flatten them into irregular shapes.

Carefully place the dough pieces into the hot oil, frying a few at a time until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Remove the fried mekitsi with a slotted spoon and drain them on paper towels.
