- Eggs4
- Granulated sugar150g
- Milk750ml
- Cornstarch75g
- Butter, softened150g
- Vanilla extract1 tsp
- Powdered sugar30g

Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Unroll puff pastry sheets and bake according to package directions until golden and crisp. Let cool.

For the quick custard: Whisk eggs, sugar, and cornstarch. Heat milk until simmering. Temper egg mixture with hot milk, return to pot.

Cook custard, stirring, until thickened. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla. Let cool completely. Beat in softened butter.

Assemble: Cut baked pastry sheets into uniform layers. Spread custard between layers.

Frost the top and sides. Dust with powdered sugar.
