- Eggs (yolks)4 large
- Granulated sugar100g
- Dark chocolate (70% cocoa)150g
- Ladyfingers (Savoiardi)200g
- Strong brewed coffee (espresso)200ml
- Dark chocolate liqueur (e.g., Crème de Cacao)50ml
- Chocolate shavings30g
- Salt1 pinch

Melt dark chocolate gently over a double boiler or in the microwave. Let cool slightly.

Whisk egg yolks and sugar in a heatproof bowl over a double boiler until pale and thickened. Remove from heat and let cool.

Gently fold the cooled melted chocolate into the mascarpone cheese until smooth.

Fold the mascarpone-chocolate mixture into the cooled egg yolk mixture.

Mix cooled coffee with chocolate liqueur.

Quickly dip ladyfingers into the coffee-liqueur mixture.

Arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers in the bottom of a serving dish.

Spread half of the chocolate mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.

Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining cream.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.

Garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.
