Steps
- 1
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, Italian sausage, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, eggs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, milk, 1 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- 2
Form the mixture into large meatballs, about 2-3 inches in diameter.

Heat olive oil in a large, oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove meatballs and set aside.
- 4
Add chopped onion to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.
- 5
Pour in the crushed tomatoes, add oregano, red pepper flakes, remaining 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp black pepper. Stir to combine.
- 6
Return the meatballs to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce. Bring to a simmer.
- 7
Cover the skillet and transfer to a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through.
- 8
Serve hot, spooning extra sauce over the meatballs.
