Ingredients
- Salmon fillet1 lb
- Fettuccine pasta12 oz
- Heavy cream1.5 cups
- Butter3 tbsp
- Garlic, minced3 cloves
- Fresh dill, chopped1/4 cup
- Lemon juice1 tbsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Olive oil1 tbsp
Steps
- 1
Cook fettuccine according to package directions. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- 2
While pasta cooks, season salmon fillet with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear salmon for 3-4 minutes per side until cooked through and flaky. Remove salmon from skillet and set aside. Once cool enough to handle, flake the salmon into large pieces.
- 3
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- 4
Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 5
Stir in chopped dill and lemon juice. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- 6
Add the drained fettuccine to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to coat evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
- 7
Gently fold in the flaked salmon pieces.
- 8
Serve immediately, garnished with extra fresh dill if desired.
