Ingredients
- Chicken pieces (bone-in, skin-on)4 lbs
- Ketchup1.5 cups
- Brown sugar0.5 cup
- Apple cider vinegar0.5 cup
- Worcestershire sauce2 tbsp
- Smoked paprika1 tbsp
- Garlic powder1 tsp
- Onion powder1 tsp
- Cayenne pepper0.5 tsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste

Preheat grill to medium-high heat.

In a saucepan, combine ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Season with salt and pepper to taste. This is your BBQ sauce.

Pat chicken pieces dry and season generously with salt and black pepper.

Grill chicken pieces for 20-25 minutes, flipping occasionally, until cooked through and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

During the last 10 minutes of grilling, brush the chicken generously with the prepared BBQ sauce. Continue grilling, brushing with more sauce as needed, until the sauce is caramelized and slightly sticky.

Remove chicken from grill and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
