Ingredients
- Ground beef1 lb
- Ground pork1 lb
- Eggs2
- Parmesan cheese, grated1/2 cup
- Breadcrumbs, plain1/2 cup
- Garlic, minced4 cloves
- Fresh parsley, chopped1/4 cup
- Olive oil2 tbsp
- Canned crushed tomatoes28 oz
- Canned tomato paste6 oz
- Onion, finely chopped1/2
- Dried oregano1 tsp
- Salt1 tsp
- Black pepper1/2 tsp
- Water1/2 cup

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, eggs, grated Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined; do not overmix.

Roll the mixture into 1.5-inch meatballs.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove meatballs and set aside.

Add the chopped onion to the same skillet and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, and 1/2 cup of water. Bring to a simmer.

Return the browned meatballs to the sauce. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for at least 45 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through and the sauce has thickened.

Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Serve hot.
