  • Beef broth1.5 cups
  • Heavy cream1/2 cup
  • Fresh dill, chopped2 tbsp
  • Salt1 tsp
  • Black pepper1/2 tsp
  • Water1/4 cup

Steps

  1. 1

In a bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, grated onion, allspice, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and form into small, 1-inch meatballs.

  2. 2

Melt 1 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove meatballs and set aside.

  3. 3

Melt the remaining 1 tbsp butter in the same skillet. Whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, to form a roux.

  4. 4

Gradually whisk in the beef broth until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring, until the sauce thickens.

  5. 5

Stir in the heavy cream and chopped dill. Return the meatballs to the skillet. Reduce heat to low and simmer gently for 15-20 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through and the sauce is creamy.

Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Serve hot.
