Prepare the soup base as per the Classic Million Dollar Soup recipe (Steps 1-4).

While the soup base simmers, prepare the dumpling batter: In a bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour, 1.5 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 tsp salt. Stir in 1/2 cup milk until just combined. Do not overmix.

Add the shredded chicken and frozen peas to the simmering soup base. Bring back to a gentle simmer.

Drop spoonfuls of the dumpling batter onto the surface of the simmering soup. Cover the pot and cook for 12-15 minutes, without lifting the lid, until dumplings are cooked through.

Gently stir in the heavy cream. Heat through without boiling. Season the soup and dumplings with salt and black pepper to taste.

Ladle soup and dumplings into bowls and garnish with fresh dill.
