Ingredients
- Cube steak4 (4-6 oz each)
- All-purpose flour1/4 cup
- Beef broth1.5 cups
- Butter or oil2 tablespoons
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste

Season cube steaks with salt and pepper. Lightly dredge in flour, shaking off excess.

Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear cube steaks for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove steaks and set aside.

Pour beef broth into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits. Bring to a simmer.

In a small bowl, whisk together 2 tablespoons of flour with 1/4 cup of cold water to create a slurry. Slowly whisk this slurry into the simmering broth until the gravy thickens.

Return cube steaks to the skillet. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 5-10 minutes until steaks are cooked through and tender.
