- 1
Activate yeast in warm water with a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
- 2
In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.
- 3
Mix until a shaggy dough forms, then knead on a lightly floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- 5
While the dough rises, thinly slice the onions and chop the anchovies. Mix them together.
- 6
Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two portions. Roll out each portion into a rectangular or round shape on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 7
Spread the anchovy and onion mixture evenly over the dough, pressing it gently. Drizzle with a little more olive oil and season with black pepper.
- 8
Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- 9
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the toppings are cooked.
