- Lemon zest1/2 tsp
- Vanilla extract1/2 tsp
- Salt1/4 tsp

Melt butter and let it cool slightly. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, lemon zest, and vanilla extract. Stir in the melted butter.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.

Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Score a cross on top.

Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Brush the top with a beaten egg wash.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
