- Store-bought Puff Pastry2 sheets (approx. 400g)
- Milk750ml
- Sugar200g
- Egg Yolks4
- Cornstarch50g
- Vanilla Extract1.5 tsp
- Heavy Cream400ml
- Powdered Sugarfor dusting

Bake puff pastry: Bake both sheets of puff pastry according to package directions until golden and crisp. Let cool.

Prepare simplified custard: Heat milk. Whisk egg yolks with sugar. Whisk in cornstarch. Temper with hot milk, return to heat, and cook, stirring, until thickened. Stir in vanilla. Cool slightly.

Whip cream: Whip heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

Assemble: Place one pastry sheet on a platter. Spread custard. Top with whipped cream. Place the second pastry sheet on top.

Chill: Refrigerate for at least 1.5 hours.

Serve: Dust with powdered sugar before slicing.
