A simplified version of Žarbo Kocke, using store-bought puff pastry to speed up the process while retaining the core flavors of walnut and apricot.

- frozen puff pastry sheets2 sheets (approx. 500g)
- ground walnuts250 g
- granulated sugar120 g
- apricot jam150 g
- dark chocolate100 g
- milk30 ml
- saltpinch

Thaw puff pastry sheets according to package directions. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).

Unroll one puff pastry sheet and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Prick with a fork.

In a bowl, mix ground walnuts with granulated sugar and a pinch of salt.

Spread half of the apricot jam over the puff pastry. Then, spread half of the walnut-sugar mixture.

Place the second puff pastry sheet on top. Spread the remaining jam and then the remaining walnut mixture.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.

Let cool slightly. While still warm, prepare the glaze.

Melt dark chocolate with milk until smooth. Pour over the cake.

Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
