Clean the sardines, remove the guts and head if desired, but keep them whole. Rinse and pat dry.

In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, salt, and pepper.

Brush the marinade over the sardines, ensuring they are well coated inside and out.

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a grill basket, lightly oil it.

Grill the sardines for 3-5 minutes per side, or until the skin is crispy and the flesh is cooked through and flakes easily.
