Traditional Labinski Krafi are a type of sweet cheese-filled pastry, typically fried and dusted with powdered sugar. This authentic version uses a simple dough and a rich, creamy filling.

- Ricotta cheese250g
- Egg yolk1
- Vanilla extract1 tsp
- Vegetable oil for fryingas needed
- Powdered sugar for dustingas needed

For the dough: Mix flour, egg, softened butter, sugar, and salt. Gradually add milk until a smooth, elastic dough forms. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.

For the filling: Combine ricotta cheese, egg yolk, sugar, lemon zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

Roll out the dough thinly on a floured surface.

Cut out circles from the dough using a glass or cookie cutter.

Place a teaspoon of filling onto one half of each circle.

Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and press the edges firmly to seal, forming a crescent shape. Crimp the edges with a fork.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat.

Fry the krafi in batches until golden brown on both sides.

Remove krafi with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.
