- Smoked dried beef or pork (suho meso)250 g
- Onion1 large
- Garlic3 cloves
- Ajvar (roasted red pepper spread)3 tbsp
- Smoked paprika1 tsp
- Bay leaf1
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste

Prepare the raštika and dried meat as in the traditional recipe (steps 1-3).

Sauté onion and garlic in a large pot.

Add the dried meat and brown slightly.

Stir in the chopped raštika, smoked paprika, and bay leaf.

Add the ajvar and stir to combine.

Add enough water to cover. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 2-2.5 hours, or until raštika is tender.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Remove bay leaf.

Serve hot, garnished with a dollop of sour cream and fresh dill.
