- pre-cooked chicken (poached or roasted)1 whole
- jasmine rice2 cups
- chicken broth (low sodium)3 cups
- ginger1 inch piece
- garlic2 cloves
- pandan leaf (optional)1
- sesame oil1 tbsp
- saltto taste
- black pepperto taste
- store-bought chili sauceto taste
- cucumber1/4

Wash the jasmine rice and drain well.

Finely mince or grate ginger and garlic. If using pandan leaf, tie into a knot.

In a rice cooker or pot, combine rice, chicken broth, minced ginger, garlic, pandan leaf (if using), and sesame oil. Add salt to taste.

Cook the rice according to rice cooker instructions or bring to a boil on the stovetop, then cover and simmer until cooked.

While rice is cooking, slice the pre-cooked chicken.

Fluff the cooked rice with a fork. Remove pandan leaf and ginger pieces.

Serve the chicken slices over the fragrant rice. Garnish with cucumber slices and serve with store-bought chili sauce.
