  • Basmati rice1.5 cups
  • Onion1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic2 cloves, minced
  • Vegetable oil2 tbsp
  • Chicken broth or water2.5 cups
  • Pre-made Mandy spice mix or Shawarma spice mix1.5 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder1/2 tsp
  • Raisins2 tbsp
  • Chopped cilantrofor garnish
  • Saltto taste
  • Black pepperto taste

    Season chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and half of the spice mix. Pan-sear in a little oil until browned on all sides. Set aside.

    Add rinsed basmati rice, the remaining spice mix, and turmeric powder. Stir for 1 minute.
