- Pre-made glutinous rice balls (plain or filled)300g
- Mung bean paste (canned or pre-made)100g
- Sugar100g
- Fresh ginger20g
- Coconut milk150ml
- Salt1/4 teaspoon
- Water300ml
- Toasted sesame seeds1 tablespoon

If using plain pre-made balls, stuff each with a small amount of mung bean paste and roll into a ball. If using pre-filled balls, proceed to the next step.

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Cook the glutinous rice balls according to package directions, or until they float. Drain.

In a saucepan, combine sugar, thinly sliced ginger, coconut milk, salt, and water. Bring to a simmer, stirring until sugar dissolves. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Add the cooked glutinous rice balls to the syrup. Simmer gently for 5 minutes.

Serve warm, sprinkled with toasted sesame seeds.
