- Bottle gourd500g
- Fresh shrimp150g
- Ground pork150g
- Shallots2 cloves
- Garlic1 clove
- Fish sauce2 tbsp
- Scallions2 stalks
- Cilantro1 small bunch
- Vegetable oil1 tbsp
- Water1.5 liters
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste

Peel and cut the bottle gourd into bite-sized pieces.

Peel and devein the shrimp. Marinate with a pinch of salt and black pepper.

Mince shallots and garlic.

Chop scallions and cilantro.

In a bowl, season the ground pork with a pinch of salt, black pepper, and 1 tsp fish sauce. Mix well.

Heat vegetable oil in a pot over medium heat. Sauté minced shallots and garlic until fragrant.

Add the seasoned ground pork and stir-fry until it's mostly cooked and broken up.

Add the bottle gourd to the pot and stir-fry briefly with the pork.

Pour in water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until the bottle gourd is tender, about 10-15 minutes.

Add the shrimp and cook for 1-2 minutes until pink and cooked through.

Season the soup with the remaining fish sauce, salt, and black pepper to taste.
