- Large shrimp, peeled and deveined1 lb
- Unsalted butter4 tbsp
- Garlic, minced6 cloves
- Fish sauce1 tbsp
- Sugar1 tsp
- Fresh cilantro, chopped2 tbsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Water2 tbsp

Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Season lightly with salt and black pepper.

Melt the butter in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds, being careful not to burn it.

Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1-2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque.

Stir in the fish sauce and sugar. Add 2 tbsp of water if the sauce seems too thick.

Toss the shrimp to coat evenly in the sauce. Cook for another minute until the sauce has slightly thickened.
