In a bowl, combine crab meat, ground pork, minced shallots, minced garlic, fish sauce, sugar, salt, black pepper, and egg. Mix thoroughly.

Prepare banana leaves by softening them (e.g., by passing over a flame or dipping in hot water) and cutting into appropriate sizes to wrap the mixture.

Place a portion of the crab mixture onto a piece of banana leaf and shape it into a log or patty.
