- Sirene cheese (Bulgarian feta)200g

- Green bell pepper, sliced1 large
- Onion, sliced1 medium
- Tomato paste2 tbsp
- Vegetable oil3 tbsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste

In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, finely chopped onion, eggs, breadcrumbs, half of the chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well until thoroughly combined.

Form the mixture into medium-sized, slightly flattened meatballs (kyufteta).

In a baking dish or traditional clay pot, arrange the sliced tomatoes, green bell pepper, and sliced onion.

Place the formed meatballs on top of the vegetables.

Crumble the sirene cheese over the meatballs and vegetables.

In a small bowl, mix the tomato paste with water and pour it over the dish.

Drizzle with vegetable oil.

Cover the dish with foil or a lid and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 45 minutes.

Remove the foil/lid and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are golden brown and the sauce has thickened.

Garnish with the remaining fresh parsley before serving.
