- Onion, finely chopped1 large
- Sirene cheese (Bulgarian feta), crumbled200g
- Eggs2
- Breadcrumbs50g
- Smoked paprika1 tbsp
- Red chili flakes1 tsp (or to taste)
- Fresh parsley, chopped1/4 bunch
- Roasted red peppers (jarred), sliced200g
- Onion, sliced1 medium
- Tomato passata400ml
- Olive oil3 tbsp
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Water100ml

In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, finely chopped onion, eggs, breadcrumbs, smoked paprika, red chili flakes, half of the chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Form the mixture into medium-sized meatballs.

In a baking dish, arrange the sliced roasted red peppers and sliced onion.

Place the formed meatballs on top of the vegetables.

Crumble the sirene cheese over the meatballs and vegetables.

In a small bowl, mix the tomato passata with water and pour it over the dish.

Drizzle with olive oil.

Cover and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 45 minutes.

Remove cover and bake for another 15-20 minutes until browned and sauce is reduced.

Garnish with remaining parsley before serving.
