A traditional Bulgarian dish where sliced zucchini are baked until tender and then topped with a creamy, garlicky yogurt sauce. Simple, healthy, and delicious.

- Yogurt (Bulgarian style, thick)500 g
- Garlic3-4 cloves
- Dill1 bunch
- Eggs2
- Butter50 g

Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).

Wash and slice zucchini into 1 cm thick rounds.

Arrange zucchini slices in a single layer in a baking dish. Season with salt and pepper.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until tender and lightly golden.

While zucchini bakes, prepare the yogurt sauce: mince garlic, chop dill. In a bowl, whisk together yogurt, eggs, minced garlic, and half of the chopped dill. Season with salt.

Melt butter and pour over the baked zucchini.

Pour the yogurt mixture evenly over the zucchini.

Return to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, until the yogurt topping is set and lightly golden.

Garnish with the remaining fresh dill before serving.
