- Breadcrumbs40g
- Butter (melted)50g
- Lemon juice1 tbsp

Prepare the strudel dough as per the traditional recipe (Steps 1 & 2 from Traditional Austrian Apple Strudel). Let it rest.

Prepare the filling: Peel, core, and dice the apples. In a bowl, combine apples, quark, chopped walnuts, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix gently.

Toast breadcrumbs in a dry pan until golden. Let cool.

Stretch the dough on a floured tablecloth until paper-thin. Trim edges.

Assemble the strudel: Brush the dough with melted butter. Sprinkle toasted breadcrumbs evenly over the dough. Spread the apple-quark-walnut filling over two-thirds of the dough.

Roll the strudel carefully using the tablecloth, folding in the ends.

Bake: Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Brush with melted butter. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 45-55 minutes, until golden brown and crisp.
