Ingredients

  • Wonton wrappers1 package (approx. 50)
  • Ground pork1/2 lb
  • Shrimp1/4 lb, finely chopped
  • Scallions2 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Ginger1 tsp, minced
  • Garlic1 clove, minced
  • Soy sauce2 tbsp
  • Black vinegar1 tbsp
  • Chili oil3 tbsp
  • Sichuan peppercorns1 tsp, ground
  • Sugar1 tsp
  • Salt0.5 tsp
  • Waterfor sealing and boiling

Steps

    Prepare the filling: Mix ground pork, chopped shrimp, scallions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, 1 tsp salt, and a pinch of Sichuan peppercorns.

    Place about 1 teaspoon of filling onto the center of a wonton wrapper. Moisten edges with water and fold into a triangle, then bring the two bottom corners together and press to seal.

    Boil the wontons in plenty of water for 4-6 minutes, or until cooked through.

    While wontons cook, prepare the sauce: In a serving bowl, combine chili oil, black vinegar, sugar, remaining soy sauce, minced garlic, and ground Sichuan peppercorns.

    Drain the wontons and add them to the sauce bowl. Toss gently to coat.

    Garnish with chopped scallions and serve immediately.
