Steps
- 1
In a large oven-safe skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and garlic over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat.
- 2
Stir in the marinara sauce, broken lasagna noodles, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
- 3
In a small bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, egg, and 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper.
- 4
Dollop spoonfuls of the ricotta mixture over the simmering sauce in the skillet. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and remaining Parmesan cheese over the top.
- 5
Cover the skillet with a lid or foil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until noodles are tender and sauce is heated through.
- 6
Alternatively, after topping with cheese, transfer the skillet to a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish with fresh basil if desired, and serve directly from the skillet.
