Ingredients
- Prime Rib Roast (bone-in)6-8 lbs
- Kosher Salt2 tbsp
- Black Pepper1 tbsp
- Garlic Powder1 tbsp
- Dried Rosemary1 tbsp
- Dried Thyme1 tsp
- Olive Oil2 tbsp

Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C).

Pat the prime rib dry with paper towels.

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, rosemary, and thyme.

Rub the entire roast with olive oil, then generously coat with the seasoning mixture.

Place the roast, fat-side up, in a roasting pan.

Roast at 450°F (230°C) for 15 minutes.

Reduce oven temperature to 325°F (160°C) and continue roasting for about 15-20 minutes per pound, or until internal temperature reaches 120-125°F (49-52°C) for medium-rare.

Remove from oven, tent loosely with foil, and let rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
