Ingredients
- Canned pinto beans, drained and rinsed2 (15-ounce) cans
- Vegetable oil or bacon fat2 tablespoons
- Onion1/4 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic1 clove, minced
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Water or chicken broth2-4 tablespoons
Steps

Heat the oil or bacon fat in a skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

Add the drained and rinsed canned pinto beans to the skillet. Mash them with a potato masher or fork. Add water or broth, a tablespoon at a time, until desired creamy consistency is reached.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Stir well and cook for 5-7 minutes, until heated through and slightly thickened.
