Ingredients
- Canned black beans2 cans (800g total)
- Pre-cooked smoked sausage (e.g., kielbasa or chorizo)300 g
- Cooked ham or pork shoulder200 g
- Bacon100 g
- Onion1 large
- Garlic3 cloves
- Bay leaf1 unit
- Saltto taste
- Black pepperto taste
- Water or broth1 cup
Steps

Dice the pre-cooked sausage and ham/pork. Chop the bacon and render it in a large pot until crispy. Remove bacon bits and set aside.

In the bacon fat, sauté the chopped onion until softened, then add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Add the diced sausage and ham/pork to the pot and cook for a few minutes until lightly browned.

Drain and rinse the canned black beans. Add them to the pot along with the bay leaf, water/broth, and reserved bacon bits.

Bring to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, allowing flavors to meld and the stew to thicken slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Remove the bay leaf. Serve hot.
