- Sweetened condensed milk1 can (14 oz)
- Heavy cream1 cup

Prepare the cake base as described in the Classic Tres Leches Cake recipe (Steps 1-5).

While the cake bakes, prepare the milk mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and heavy cream.

Stir in the vanilla extract. Then, gently swirl in the dulce de leche until partially combined, creating ribbons of caramel.

Once the cake is out of the oven, let it cool slightly for about 10 minutes. Poke holes all over the top of the cake.

Slowly and evenly pour the dulce de leche infused milk mixture over the warm cake. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.

Before serving, garnish with a drizzle of extra dulce de leche and toasted almonds.
