Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Prepare the chocolate cake according to package directions using the cake mix, eggs, oil, and water.

Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake as directed on the box.

Let the cake cool completely in the pan.

While the cake cools, prepare the quick cheesecake filling: In a bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Beat in powdered sugar and vanilla extract until combined.

Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping until smooth.

Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the cooled chocolate cake layer.

Warm the chocolate frosting slightly in the microwave (about 15-20 seconds) to make it spreadable. Spread evenly over the cheesecake layer.
