Ingredients

  • Beef round steak1.5 lbs
  • All-purpose flour1/4 cup
  • Olive oil2 tbsp
  • Onion1 medium
  • Canned tomato sauce1 (15 oz) can
  • Beef broth1.5 cups
  • Saltto taste
  • Black pepperto taste

    Cut steak into 4-6 portions and pound to tenderize.

    Season flour with salt and pepper, then dredge steak pieces.

    Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak on both sides until browned.
