- Store-bought puff pastry2 sheets (approx. 500g)
- Milk1 liter
- Granulated sugar300 g
- Eggs (yolks)6
- Cornstarch70 g
- Vanilla extract1.5 tsp
- Heavy cream400 ml
- Powdered sugarfor dusting

Bake puff pastry: Bake the two sheets of store-bought puff pastry according to package directions until golden and crisp. Let cool.

Prepare quick custard: Heat milk. Whisk egg yolks, sugar, and cornstarch. Temper with hot milk, return to pot, and cook, stirring, until thickened. Stir in vanilla. Cool completely.

Whip cream: Whip heavy cream to stiff peaks.

Fold cream into custard: Gently fold whipped cream into the cooled custard.

Assemble: Place one pastry sheet on a serving dish. Spread the cream mixture over it. Top with the second pastry sheet.

Chill: Refrigerate for at least 1.5 hours.
