  • Egg yolk, for brushing1

    Warm milk slightly, dissolve honey and yeast in it. Let proof.

    Combine flour and salt in a bowl. Make a well.

    Whisk eggs and melted butter. Add to flour mixture along with proofed yeast mixture.

    Knead until a smooth dough forms. Incorporate more honey if needed for a slightly sweeter dough.

    Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1-1.5 hours.

    Prepare filling: Mix ground walnuts, brown sugar, honey, milk, and lemon zest until combined.

    Roll out dough into a thin rectangle (approx. 40x50 cm).

    Spread the honey-walnut filling evenly over the dough.

    Roll up tightly from the long side.

    Shape into a coil or horseshoe and place in a greased pan.
