Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a 22cm (8.5-inch) round cake pan.

In a bowl, beat eggs and sugar until well combined.

Stir in the ground walnuts, lemon zest, and salt.

Pour batter into the prepared pan.

Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
