- Walnuts, finely ground100 g
- Honey2 tbsp
- Cinnamon1/2 tsp
- Vegetable oil for frying500 ml
- Powdered sugar for dusting50 g

Prepare the Fanjki dough as per the Classic Fanjki recipe (steps 1-4).

While the dough rests, prepare the filling: mix finely ground walnuts, honey, and cinnamon in a small bowl.

Roll out the dough very thinly (about 1-2 mm thick).

Cut the dough into strips, about 3 cm wide.

Place a small amount (about 1/2 tsp) of walnut filling at one end of each dough strip. Fold the dough over the filling to create a small parcel or roll it up loosely like a ribbon.

Pinch the edges to seal the filling inside, if making parcels.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 170°C (340°F).

Carefully fry the filled Fanjki in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Be careful not to overcrowd the pot.

Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Dust generously with powdered sugar while still warm.
