Prepare the yeast dough as per the traditional recipe (steps 1-4).

Prepare the filling: grind poppy seeds, mix with honey, chopped walnuts, orange zest, and orange juice until a thick paste forms.

Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a large rectangle.

Spread the poppy seed and walnut filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border.

Carefully roll up the dough from the long side to form a log.

Place the roll in a greased loaf pan or on a baking sheet. Let it rise again for about 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. If it browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil.
